Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Amazon sign a new memo against Trump

Dozens of US technology companies, including Amazon, Facebook, Google and Microsoft, Wednesday filed a legal filing urging the judge to rescind US President Donald Trump's decision to ban travel related to immigrants.

More than 160 companies signed the memo, filed in the US Court of Appeals for the County of Maryland, and federal judges had suspended the revised Trump Order issued last March banning travel for refugees and citizens from six Muslim-majority countries.

In the recent "court memo", companies argued that the Trump ban discriminates not only on the basis of religion but also exceeds the authority of the president to change the rules on who is allowed to enter the country.

"The executive rule affects the rules governing access to the United States and causes great harm to American companies, their employees and the entire American economy," the lawyers said in a copy of the online summary.
